UK semiconductor company Fractile has today announced a successful $220m Series B funding round.

The London-founded company is developing next-generation chips to speed up AI inference – the process by which AI models generate responses. The latest funding round was led by Accel, Factorial Funds and Founders Fund.

“Fractile’s $220 million Series B funding round is fantastic news and another strong signal of the momentum building across the UK semiconductor sector. It is a clear demonstration of the UK’s growing capability in next-generation AI hardware and advanced semiconductor technologies.

"Together with Quantum Motion’s recent $160 million Series C raise, we're seeing increasing investor confidence in UK semiconductor businesses and the innovation taking place across the ecosystem.

"The challenge now is to ensure we create the conditions for more success stories like this and help ambitious UK companies scale, attract investment and grow globally. That is a core part of the UKSC’s mission.”
