The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) is offering an annual £4,000 bursary for students beginning a semiconductor-related course in the academic year 2027/28.
The bursary is part of the UK Government's TechGrad initiative - a strand of the flagship TechFirst programme aimed at opening pathways into the UK’s fast-growing tech sector.
The bursary scheme will provide students with £4,000 per year for each year of their studies, up to a maximum of 4 years.
The bursary scheme is open to:
- Students beginning their studies in 2027/28*
- Students studying at a UK university
- Students studying the following subjects**:
* For students starting their studies in the 2026/27 term, a similar bursary is available through the UK government, and is being administered by the UK Electronics Skills Foundation. More information can be found here[LINK].
** The bursary scheme is not open to students applying for a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship Programme.
